JOE SACCO AND CHLOE EUDALY IN CONVERSATION

Portland-based writer, publisher, and bookseller Chloe Eudaly and renowned illustrator and journalist Joe Sacco, author of Footnotes in Gaza: A Graphic Novel, will discuss comics and journalism in this casual and lively presentation. Sacco is a Maltese citizen currently residing in Portland. His work has won international praise for combining eyewitness reportage with the medium of comics storytelling to explore complex, emotionally weighted situations. In 1996 he won the prestigious American Book Award for his book Palestine. Sacco is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship. Chloe Eudaly runs the internationally celebrated Portland bookshop Reading Frenzy. She co-founded the Independent Publishing Resource Center and in 2005 launched Show & Tell Press.
