This free event will celebrate the summer exhibitions The Bible Illuminated: R. Crumb’s Book of Genesis and Master Drawings from the Crocker Art Museum through activities that will appeal to kids and adults alike. Tap your toes and clap your hands in the sculpture court, where the Kung Pao Chickens and the Watertown Bucket Boys will play old time music—R. Crumb’s favorite style of music! Young artists and aspiring cartoonists can drop by the “Kids Comic Jam” and hang out with comic artists from the Independent Publishing Resource Center who will facilitate games and teach comics techniques. Buy a snack from one of Portland’s finest food carts. Free admission. Participating food carts are Koi Fusion PDX, the Village Crepery, and Ruby Jewel Ice Cream.
In partnership with the Independent Publishing Resource Center and funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council. Museum Family Days are supported by Sharon L. Miller and Family and the Lamb Baldwin Foundation. |
